UK unemployment lowest in a decade

CFM News Update: The UK unemployment rate fell to the lowest level for nearly ten years at 5.2% in the three months to October, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS). There were 31.3m people in work, 505,000 more than a year earlier. The figures also show EU citizens working in the UK increased by 324,000 to 2.02m, whereas workers who were neither EU nationals nor Britons were "little changed" at 1.20m. However, average earnings grew at the slowest pace since near the start of the year. Pay for employees rose by 2.4% including bonuses in the three months to October, compared with a 3% rise in September. Excluding bonuses, it was up by 2.1%.
